It should be no surprise by now that vinyl records have made a huge comeback, back from the brink of death and getting new life on new and vintage turntables around the world. When it comes to Las Vegas showbiz, Tom Jones is a household name. The consummate Welsh gentleman, comes armed with a microphone, ruffled shirt, Elvis-like swagger and a booming backing orchestra (conducted by Johnnie Spence), on this hot-n-heavy "Live In Las Vegas" album recorded at the famous Flamingo Hotel, kick-starting what would be a record 42 year run as the king of the strip.
Jones simply oozes 1960s cool on this record, belting out the hits, "Turn On Your Love Light", the Otis Redding-penned "Hard To Handle" and delights the audience with his signature tunes "Delilah" and "It's Not Unusual." Some low candle light mood music makes the cut, peppered in between a few familiar Lennon-McCartney hits like "Yesterday" and "Hey Jude."
