Plastic cut cards are used in
blackjack to divide the playing cards in a dealing shoe and to remind
the dealer when it's time to reshuffle. In poker, the cut card prevents
exposing the bottom card of a deck of playing cards.. This is why it is
advisable to use a cut card placed under the bottom of the deck
preventing the bottom
card from being seen.
